Funny lady Jenny Slate is pregnant with her first child. The “Parks and Recreation” star announced the big news during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” on Dec. 11.

“On night one of the lockdown, we had a really romantic night of being together, real sweet with my fiance,” the actress told Meyers when he asked how she’s spent the last nine months during the pandemic. “And then, I did what everyone else did, and I kind of like hunkered down, and baked a lot of bread.”

“But I just want to say, I think I might have baked like too much bread, or eaten too much bread,” she continued. “You tell me, Seth,” she said as she stood to show off her baby bump.

“Oh yeah, that’s a lot of carbs,” the host joked through laughter.

Looks like she definitely has a bun in the oven!

“How have the exact last nine months been? They’ve been real pregnant for me,” quipped Slate as she sat back down.

She noted that being an expectant mother during this trying time has been a bright spot during an otherwise “hard and sad” period.

Slate became engaged to her fiance, Ben Shattuck, in September 2019.

“He took me to France and made a picnic and made me feel happy and free and then he asked me to marry him and I screamed YES,” she wrote in an Instagram post at the time.

Living in a seaside home in Massachusetts, Slate has been passing the time with hypnobirthing meditations daily. She thinks the old home, which has been in Shattuck’s family for nearly a century, may be haunted and says that it has a legitimate “pet cemetery” nearby that she frequently visits.

Congratulations to Slate and Shattuck on their soon-to-be bundle of joy!
