An ice-cold milkshake may not be the first thing you think of when you’re looking for a winter treat, but the return of a fan-favorite item to Dairy Queen’s menu may just change your mind.

After being requested by fans, the restaurant chain has officially brought back their Frozen Hot Chocolate to participating locations nationwide!

The drink blends rich cocoa fudge with vanilla soft serve ice cream and is then garnished with whipped topping and a chocolate drizzle. It is available in small, medium or large for a limited time.

If you would rather try making your own frozen hot chocolate, it’s actually quite easy. This recipe from Mel’s Kitchen Cafe uses just three ingredients: chocolate milk, dry hot chocolate mix and ice. You can also add whipped cream and chocolate sprinkles if you wish.

You could also try making these hot chocolate floats, which call for a scoop of vanilla ice cream in hot chocolate, so the ice cream melts and creates a creamy drink. Or, if you want hot chocolate flavors but don’t want to make something yourself, you can find “Frrrozen Hot Chocolate” ice cream by Serendipity Brands at many grocery stores nationwide.

Beginning in November, you can also buy Duncan Hines Swiss Miss Hot Cocoa Flavored Boxed Cake Mix and Hot Cocoa Frosting. Both are made with rich cocoa and for an extra festive treat, you may want to consider putting marshmallows on top of the cake, just like you would if it was a cup of hot chocolate!

If hot chocolate isn’t your thing, Dairy Queen’s Blizzard of the Month for November is Snickerdoodle Cookie Dough. This Blizzard combines snickerdoodle cookie dough with cinnamon sugar, all blended into DQ’s vanilla soft serve.

Other limited-time treats on their menu include a Choco-dipped Strawberry Blizzard, Brownie Dough Blizzard and Oreo Mocha Fudge Blizzard.
