We’re only a few days into 2020, but the bar has already been set pretty high as far as adorable memes go. Forget @dudewithsign and @dudettewithsign, the only sign-holding creature we’re interested in right now is @dogwithsign. “If you don’t sit for something, you’ll never get the treat,” declares Baboy on his Instagram account, where he’s accumulated more than 10,000 followers in only a few weeks.

Baboy’s Instagram follows a similar style of dude and dudette’s (otherwise known as Seth and Beth), showing them holding signs on crowded New York City streets, protesting very important social issues.

If we’re going to take life lessons from anyone, why shouldn’t it be a fluffy pooch? His notable messages thus far include “Stop blaming your farts on me” and “Stop cutting treats into smaller treats.” You don’t have to have four legs and a long tail to relate to those, right?

For New Year’s Eve, the dog was in Times Square with a message for the people taunting him with that massive ball hanging over the city. This one is also gospel for anyone who was already tired of the holiday season by the time Jan. 1 rolled around.

Other signs are strictly aimed at Baboy’s fellow mutts, like, “Toilets are just big water bowls” and ” Bark if you like smelly socks.” He proudly held the latter sign in the middle of famed Grand Central Station.

Other messages Baboy has promoted may have a deeper meaning than you initially think …

One of the dog’s sharpest critiques on society came when he brandished a sign that urged the powers that be to stop letting humans judge dog shows. He’s got a point, right? It was his first post to get more than 2,500 likes.

The original social protester, @dudewithsign, has more than 2 million followers on Instagram, and there’s no reason Baboy can’t reach the same dizzy heights of social media fame. We can’t wait to see what messages this adorable dog has for the world in 2020.

If it’s your mission this year to fill your Instagram with cute dogs, you might also want to check out Doug the Pug (@itsdougthepug) and Tuna (@tunameltsmyheart).

Doug boasts 3.8 million Instagram followers and has even appeared in major music videos, daily talk shows and award shows. Basically, he’s an A-lister in the viral dog world. And Tuna, arguably the OG Insta-pup, has 2.1 million followers, largely thanks to his adorable overbite and vast dress-up collection. Make room for Baboy, guys!
