Gwen Stefani Recreated Her Hits As Country Songs With Jimmy Fallon

Gwen Stefani has gone country! Taking a cue from her country-star fiancé Blake Shelton, Stefani has reimagined some of her hit songs, including “Spiderwebs,” “Don’t Speak” and “Hollaback Girl,” as country tunes with a twang.

But before you get too excited, keep in mind that the musician’s transformation was just part of a silly skit during an appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”

Fallon played Buck Pinto, a down-home salesman pitching Stefani’s fictional album, “Gwen’s Gone Country.” The faux infomercial is pretty funny. Check it out in the YouTube clip below:

“So if you like your ska and pop by the way of the South, you’re gonna love her new versions of songs like ‘Just a Girl,’ ‘The Sweet Escape,’ and of course, the classic, ‘Don’t Speak,'” Fallon says.

Stefani plays a bit of the country version of “Don’t’ Speak” while dressed the part in a cowboy hat and Western-style shirt, and it sounds pretty good! We also get to a little of the country spins on “Spiderwebs” and “Hollaback Girl.”

Not bad!

At the end of the skit, Fallon teases that if you order now, you’ll also get the bonus album, “Blake Shelton: Big Ska Country.”

“Order today. There’s ‘no doubt’ you’ll love it,” he quips, a play on Stefani’s band, No Doubt.

Too funny!

Although Stefani is not releasing a country album in real life, she did release a country-style duet with Shelton, “Happy Anywhere,” back in July. The song’s lyrics are about being happy with the one you love, even amid difficult circumstances.

“We’ve all been in quarantine and lockdown, and hopefully we’ve been doing that with somebody that we really love and enjoy being around,” Shelton said in a press release, according to People. “That’s what happened with Gwen and me this summer — and this entire year.”

Aww! Hopefully, we’ll hear more collaborations from these lovebirds in the future!
