Summer may be long gone, but if you have some leftover tomato wire from your garden, you can use it to make a new piece of holiday decor for the winter season. Along with some pine branches, elastic bands and floral wire, you can craft an adorable tree “gnome” that will add a bit of festive fun to your seasonal decorations.

Following the instructions, you’ll put together the materials to create a cute little gnome that can be set out on your lawn or front porch. For the gnome’s nose, you can use a potato or an ornament. The possibilities are endless! Top it all off with a hat, which you can buy or make from felt.

Check out the full tutorial from Jennifer Tryon on YouTube to get step-by-step instructions on how to make this super-cute outdoor decoration:

You can grab some pine branches right from your own backyard if you have pine trees on your property, but they can also be purchased wherever fresh Christmas trees are sold.

If you really want to go all out, you can add even more accessories. Check out this tree gnome sporting boots and mittens, posted to Facebook by Yvonne Kopp:

This one posted to Facebook by Patricia Linback Morris is rocking a full Santa beard, which looks like it’s made from yarn:

He just needs some sunglasses and he’d look just like Christmasy ZZ Top!

If you have pine trees as part of your landscaping, you can even make the whole tree into a gnome, as shown in this Facebook post from The Shabby Creek Cottage:
