Meghan McCain and her husband, Ben Domenech, have welcomed their first child together. “The View” co-host gave birth to a daughter, Liberty Sage McCain Domenech, on Monday, Sept. 28. Both mother and baby are reportedly doing well.

On Sept. 29, McCain took to Twitter to thank everyone for their messages of congratulations following the big announcement.

“Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for all the wonderful well wishes and overwhelming kindness,” McCain wrote. “Ben and I are completely and utterly in love with our daughter and feeling indescribably blessed/blissed out. We will be watching her first debate as a family together tonight!”

McCain announced her pregnancy in March 2020. She and Domenech wed in 2017, and in 2019, McCain revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage.

“I have love for all the women who, like me, were briefly in the sisterhood of motherhood, hoping, praying and nursing joy within us, until the day the joy was over,” McCain wrote in a New York Times opinion piece about the experience. “You are not alone.”

As the daughter of the late Senator John McCain, “The View” star knows what it’s like to grow up in the public eye. With that experience in mind, the new mom says she plans to protect her daughter’s privacy as much as possible.

″People keep asking and requesting I show pics & details of my pregnancy,” she wrote in a May 2020 Instagram post.

“Given that people write on photos I put up of my family they are glad my Dad got cancer and he’s in hell, I thought I would leave my unborn child out of the social media cesspool as much as is possible.”

On Sept. 29, McCain’s mom, Cindy McCain, also took to social media to express her joy over the birth of her new granddaughter.

“I’m so pleased to announce the birth of my third grandchild, Liberty Sage,” the grandmother gushed on Twitter. “A darling baby girl! I know John is looking down!”

Meghan McCain has been making remote appearances on “The View” since the pandemic began, and she plans to return to the talk show in about three weeks.

Congratulations to the whole happy family on their newest addition!
