If you’re a fan of one of the latest buzzed-about shows on Netflix, “Dead To Me,” we have some good news — the series is officially coming back for a second season. Liz Feldman, the show’s creator, announced the good news at Netflix’s FYSEE event on June 3.

Prior to the confirmation, Feldman spoke about what she envisioned for a second season.

“It will be about the further exploration of this friendship, and relationship, and now very complicated dynamic, or even more complicated dynamic between these two women,” Feldman told Entertainment Weekly.

“What I wanted to do was create a situation where they’re forced together, and they need each other now in some ways more than they did at the beginning of season one.”

Without giving too much away for those who have not yet caught it, “Dead To Me” stars Christina Applegate as Jen, a grieving recent widow who finds an unlikely friend in Judy, a woman she meets at a support group (Linda Cardellini).

Jen struggles to come to terms with her new reality as she balances her career and her kids.

Both leading actors will return for the second season of the super-dark dramedy.

Although an official release date has not yet been announced, Feldman took to Twitter to confirm that the premiere would take place sometime next year:

“Season Two. Officially coming to you in 2020!!” she wrote alongside a photo of Applegate and Cardellini posing together and flashing matching peace signs.

Applegate shared the same photo on Twitter, writing, “My girl We got more time together. I love you.”

Meanwhile, Cardelliniretweeted the news on June 3, along with several celebratory emojis.

The finale of the first season ended on a major cliffhanger, so it will be interesting to see where the show goes next.

Feldman has also noted that the ending she originally wrote was not the one that ended up on the screen, and indicated in an interview with Uproxx that her first idea may still be used in the show.

“I originally had pitched an entire season to Netflix, which is the pitch that I sold them,” she said, adding that it had a different ending.

However, she declined to give away what her original idea was, stating, “I’m not going to say because that’s something that we still may use.”

The show’s official Twitter account hinted at this unexpected ending in its season two announcement, writing, “It’s going to take a lot more than a body in a pool to break up these two. #DeadToMe Season 2 coming in 2020.”
