Admit it. We all have guilty food pleasures. Usually, these happy foods tickle our sweet tooth and we love them even though we know they are bad for us. Maybe you are crazy about ice cream. Or, you can’t get enough of sweet breakfast treats like Pop-Tarts. Well, the newest cereal to pop up on shelves checks off two guilty pleasures for this girl: sugary cereal and — wait for it — Twinkies! Yes, there is now a Twinkies cereal arriving on the market and I am all for it.

Yes, I confess. I love Hostess Twinkies. There is something irresistible about their yellow sponge cake and yummy cream filling that just brings me back to childhood. Now, I (and other Twinkies lovers) will be able to have them for breakfast thanks to a partnership between Post Consumer Brands and Hostess Brands, LLC.

Twinkies Cereal is set to debut on grocery store shelves sometime in late December, according to Post Brands. You will be able to pour yourself a big ole bowl of cereal that looks and tastes exactly like miniature versions of the favorite snack cake.

“In developing a cereal version of the iconic Twinkies, our top priority was focused on delivering the great Twinkies flavor in each bite,” said Josh Jans, brand manager of cereal partnerships at Post Consumer Brands. “Knowing that taste remains the No. 1 purchase driver of cereal, we conducted multiple consumer tests, and the new Twinkies Cereal delivered. We think fans will find that it not only tastes great with milk but also outside the bowl.”

Those golden Twinkies cakes with the creamy filling aren’t the first snack cake to be transformed into a tasty breakfast cereal. Post and Hostess teamed up in 2018 to bring the world Honey Bun Cereal and Donettes Cereal.

You can visit the Post Hostess cereal website to find stores that carry these snack cake cereals in your area. And, don’t worry! We won’t judge you for wanting to satisfy that sweet cereal craving!
