Wearing a face mask when you’re out in public is one of the most important things you can do to help prevent the spread of coronavirus. But if you wear eyeglasses regularly, you know all too well how quickly the lenses can become foggy when you mask up.

To help, Warby Parker has created an anti-fog spray. The spray comes in a $15 “Clean My Lenses Kit” that also includes a microfiber cloth and a microfiber lens pouch that doubles as a cleaning cloth.

The popular glasses brand posted a video on Instagram that demonstrates how to use the anti-fog spray and cloth to clean your glasses.

Eyeglass fog has become a common problem now that masks are must-have pandemic accessories, and other companies have also developed anti-fog solutions.

Nerdwax, for example, sells a $9.99 FogBlock, which is a reusable coated microfiber cloth that keeps your lenses fog-free. You use it by dampening your lenses and wiping evenly with a cloth, and the FogBlock will last you about a year (or 300 applications), according to the company.

If you are an eyeglass wearer, you’ve probably dealt with foggy glasses occasionally, like when you open an oven or dishwasher door and the heat steams up your lenses. But when you wear a face mask, the fog becomes perpetual because the hot, humid air that you’re breathing into your mask rises up to your cooler glasses, creating a condensation that fogs your lenses and makes it difficult to see.

Another trick for preventing glasses fog while wearing a mask is to wash your glasses in soap and water just before putting on your mask. A study in the journal of Royal College of Surgeons of England found that this simple habit helped surgeons reduce lens fogging. You can also try tightening your mask to reduce air from escaping and fogging your lenses.
